Got closure today for a scam that happened in August, where over $1300 were stolen from bank account and credit card. Went to unfreeze the bank account and got to know the number of scams the bank staff and their customes are having to deal with on a day to day basis. Technology made a lot of things easier, including the execution of scams.
I found Blockchain technology to be compelling because it can be used as a tool to bring accountability and fairness to the internet. It was very interesting (and kind of funny) to watch Everyone Is Lying to You for Money, which showed how blockchain technology has been used to scam people.
I am determined to find ways to solidify the defensive framework against scams orchestrated online.
