I'm at ETH Zurich Zentrum campus today, working on final edits to my MAS MTEC thesis on "Managing Authentic and Synthetic Information with C2PA Content Credentials". I've been actively engaging the digital authenticity space for over three years now, engaging with the likes of Starling Lab at Stanford University, lecturing sessions on blockchain and decentralized identity as a guest instructor at Stanford's "Designing for Authenticity" course in Spring 2024 and 2025. These are interesting times in the digital world. The magnitude of misinformation and manipulative content has scaled with the access to powerful AI models. While the tactical deception trait in humans has been around for over a million years, the impact of it is now exacerbated with the connectivity that came with the wide adoption of internet.
The problem space of digital authenticity is huge. I feel I can dedicate my productive years of work life for solving this challenge. This thesis is a stepping stone in that pursuit.
